Cape Rep Theatre presents "The Baltimore Waltz"
Cape Rep Theatre presents “The Baltimore Waltz,” a comedic theatrical performance written by Paula Vogel. The play will open June 21 and will run through July 21 on Tuesdays, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 PM and Wednesdays at 7 PM. Diagnosed with terminal “Acquired Toilet Disease,” a 1st grade teacher from Baltimore embarks on a madcap trip through France, Germany, Holland and Austria with her beloved brother. She aims to taste all of life’s sensual pleasures; he wants her to undergo a whacky alternative medical cure in Austria. In writing this Obie Award-winning play, Paula Vogel employed all her brilliant creative tools—comedy, drama, music, her love of movies, art and literature—to come to terms with a profound personal tragedy. Victoria Flores is the the director. The cast comprises Ryann Weir as Anna; Salty Brine as Carl, and Andrew Farmer as Third Man. All three cast members are new to Cape Rep. They have been rehearsing together in New York City for this production. All three have impressive resumes in the New York theater scene. There will be no performance on June 28 and July 4th. Tickets are $25. Friday, June 22, is pay-what-you-can night. Student rush tickets are also available. Call the box office at 508-896-1888 for details. or go to www.caperep.org.
