NORTH BEACH ISLAND BIRDING
Visit Cape Cod’s newest island. During the winter of 2007, a new inlet cut North Beach in half, which created an island of the southern half. This remote area has attracted staging flocks of common, roseate, Forster’s, least, and black terns, Hudsonian godwits, red knots, sanderlings and ruddy turnstones. We may also see jaegers, and four species of shearwaters. It’s also a popular spot for seals. Our time will be spent birding, beachcombing, watching for seals, and learning about the dynamic geology of the region.
