Clay Fest with Jenn Reed (Ages 6-11)
The Cape Cod Museum of Art’s 2024 Summer Youth Program is bursting with creativity and fun for kids ages 6 to 16! Weekly sessions include:

The Museum School at the Cape Cod Museum of Art presents: Summer Youth Clay Fest with Jenn Reed. Monday, July 22 - Thursday, July 25, from 9:00 – 11:30 AM. Members $195 / Non-Members $210 (materials cost included). Ages 6-11. Limited to 12 students, enroll today to secure your spot!

Back by popular demand! Kids ages 6- 11 will have fun joining instructor Jenn Reed for this hand-building clay class. Young artists will learn how to make their own masterpieces with coil, slab, and pinching techniques. In this class, students will hand-build 3D creations of their own vision. Some possibilities will be bowls, boxes with lids, vessels, and sculptural creatures or structures. Once students learn some basic clay rules and how to build, the possibilities are endless. Experimentation with ideas, texture, tools, and form is encouraged. A class or two will allow for some wheel- throwing opportunities and fun. Materials and firing included; come ready to get muddy! Students should bring their own drinks and snacks.

Please note: Using regular clay and underglazes (clay paint), the process of ceramics requires firing pieces in the kiln before students can take home their work. All student artwork will be available for pick-up 10 to 14 days after the completion of the class. The Museum School will contact students when their work is ready to be picked up at the Museum.

Students must be 6 years of age or older; Students must be checked in and out by an accompanying adult; Students should bring a drink and snack each day; An emergency contact form is required, visit the official information page on ccmoa.org/youth-classes to complete ?
