Cape Cod hosts several
dozen river herring runs.
Two species of herring
swim
up the runs in April and
May to spawn, then return
to the ocean. Scientists
believe they’ve been
migrating up streams
along the Atlantic since
long before
Cape Cod was scraped up
by Ice Age glaciers.
The Centerville River is
one of the Cape’s runs,
and its robust migration
has

Pulitzer prize willing
investigative journalist
with the Boston Globe,
author Stephen Kurkjian
will be at the Osterville
Village Library presenting
"Solving The Lady Of The
Dunes'.
On becoming
Provincetown's lone police
detective ten years ago,
Meredith Lobur visited the
gravesite of the town's
most famous murder
victim, a woman whose
identity had been unknown
since her body had been
found in 1974 on a lonely
stretch of the town's
legendary sand dunes, and
made a solemn pledge -
"I'm going to get you back
to your family." It took
more than a decade but
staying current with the
advances in DNA research
and using her legal
background as well as
continuous prodding of the
FBI, she was able to assist
in finding the woman's
identity and reunite the
woman's remains with her
family.
Once her identity became
known, more secrets
would emerge...
Join the Osterville Village
Library as we welcome
Stephen Kurkjian as he
presents this thrilling talk
Saturday July 27th at 1pm
in the Main Meeting Room.
