9-Ball by Art Devine Summary: The year is 1967. Over a game of pool, two young men swap identities. One goes to prison; the other to war. Inspired by true events and pulsating with the sights and sounds of the late 1960s, 9-Ball was Art Devine’s hugely successful first play at Cape Rep and is being brought back in celebration of its 25th Anniversary.

LARRY DOUCETTE, a clean-cut kid from a working class family. A Catholic of French-Canadian descent. Although he has a gift with numbers, he barely graduated from high school. He is 18 years old. EDDIE FOGAL, a baby-faced 18 year old soldier in Vietnam. Also plays VINNY PETRECHO, a drugged-out convict and Larry’s cellmate. ROCKY THOMAS, a young Black soldier who is tone deaf. Also plays MINK, a leg-breaker who works for a semi-successful racketeer in Albany, NY. BRAD COYNE, a prison supervisor. Also plays several other roles TOM DURKEE, a prison guard.
