Join the Fight Against Sickle Cell Disease
The Red Cross and the OVL are collaborating for the 4th year to bring awareness to the need for donors.
Join us June 19th for this important blood drive and information session at Osterville Village Library.
Why are blood donations so important for patients with sickle cell disease?
About 100,000 people in the United States have sickle cell disease. Sickle cell disease affects 1 out of every 365 Black or African American births. People with sickle cell disease may need as many as 100 units of blood each year. Your blood donations could help alleviate the symptoms of someone living with sickle cell disease, or even help save their life.
Appointments to donate blood can be made at REDCROSS.org
