Inspired by the tragic 1927 sinking of the U.S. Navy submarine S-4 off Provincetown’s Wood End, the book brings together history and human drama surrounding one of the Cape’s most memorable maritime disasters.
During the program in our East Gallery, Zeni will speak about why he chose to tell this story, read selected passages from the book, and share a slide presentation featuring historical images and background related to the event.
David Zeni is a former Provincetown resident now living in Harwich, Massachusetts. A former Navy submarine officer and former employee of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Sail Four is his second book.
