Fritz Glass in the Contemporary Gallery
This year's artist in the Contemporary Gallery is Fritz Lauenstein. He started blowing glass in 1974 at the Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine. He then attended Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont and the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Massachusetts. He moved to the Cape, where his family is from, and in 1990 set up his studio in Dennis Port where he has been designing both functinal and decorative glass. Fritz is known as one of the top marble makers in the country. Collectors from all over the globe seek his work. His stunning creations include a wide variety of glass objects including spectacular marbles, paperweights, perfume bottles, jewelry, vases, and bowls to name but a few. His work has been shown and sold in Museums and over 200 galleries, predominantly in the United States.
