Starting May 7, the newly formed Wings & Tides Bird Club will meet at the library on the first Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. Time may adjust slightly with the seasons and setting sun. This club will meet until winter when southern migration starts in earnest. We’ll meet and mingle in the community room, share sightings, photos, successful locations and tips followed by a group migration to the garden for a group sit and observation. Bringing along a portable chair is encouraged (available outdoor seating is limited) and your favorite binoculars.... (more)

Around 1997, Pokemon took the U.S. by storm. Trading cards, video games, toys, stuffed animals, almost anything! Personally, I was absorbed by the Pokemon culture. My best friend even got a holographic Charizard trading card in his very first booster pack! Years later Pokemon has continued to consume people’s lives! And in a positive way.... (more)
